EG's Damian Wild joins ING as Managing Director

ING appoints EG’s Damian Wild as Managing Director

Appointment heralds change in leadership structure to accelerate ING’s next phase of growth, following move to become a 100% employee-owned business.

Damian, who is currently Director of Market Development for EG, the real estate news, data and intelligence platform and publication, will take up the role in summer 2022.

Damian was previously the long-standing Editor-in-Chief and Publisher at EG and has extensive industry experience.

Current Managing Director, Leanne Tritton, who founded ING in 1999, will become Executive Chair, with the current Executive Chairman, Tony Danaher, stepping into an advisory role. Current Director Dominic Morgan will be promoted to Executive Director.

Damian’s appointment follows ING’s move to become a fully employee-owned business in 2021, which means 100% of the shares in the business are held in an Employee Ownership Trust on behalf of all ING Media employees.

Damian has over 25 years’ experience in business information, as a journalist and editor and more recently as a publisher with commercial responsibility for EG’s media and events business, and now in a role focused on strategy and partnerships.

ING has experienced strong growth in recent years. It entered the PRWeek Top 150 for the first time in 2019 in 91st place, rising to 80th in 2021, and has been named as one of the five largest B2B consultancies by turnover two years running. The business has around 40 consultants, boasting a broad range of specialist experience across the built environment.

“I wish to pay tribute to our out-going Executive Chairman Tony Danaher who joined us in January 2015 and has been instrumental in getting ING to our position as a trusted advisor in the industry,” Leanne added. “He will remain a key part of the leadership team, offering guidance as the team settle into their new roles.”

Leanne, Damian and Dominic will work with current ING directors Robert Pine, Tom Elliott, Caz Facey and Joanna Heksel as the management board leading the consultancy.

ING is managed to benefit current and future employees in all senses. One of the key responsibilities of the leadership team, alongside our transition into a fully employee-owned business, has been to manage a sustainable succession plan that puts ING in a position to reach our full growth potential and secure our future for decades to come. We believe Damian has the skill set and proven track record to lead the business, but also a value system that is completely aligned with ING’s. I am so very proud that he has agreed to join our team.
— Leanne Tritton

ING is a fantastic business, and a wonderful champion of the built environment and many of its most progressive businesses. The opportunity to join and help to build on the team’s success was impossible to resist. The next decade will see the built environment undergo profound change. ESG responsibilities, digital, data and tech disruption and an urgent need to better connect with stakeholders only elevates the need for effective, purposeful communication.  Having seen Leanne, Tony, Dominic and the rest of the ING team operate over many years, I know there is no better business to help the built environment rise to the challenge.
