PR firm ING Media has been appointed to two significant briefs in the lead up to COP26 climate conference.

ING has been appointed by UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) as Communications Delivery Partner for ‘Build Better Now’, the Built Environment Virtual Pavilion at COP26, which is being delivered by the UKGBC, WorldGBC and 40+ Partners. In this role, ING will create awareness and drive attendance to Build Better Now, forging a legacy from the virtual pavilion that will solidify the role of the built environment as a critical solution to the climate emergency. This will include social media and digital optimisation, with a focus on media relations and content strategy and creation.

Build Better Now is an immersive experience showcasing the ingenuity and innovation of built environment professionals from around the world, where visitors will explore an array of projects demonstrating the next generation of sustainable construction. The virtual pavilion along with an events series including tours, keynotes, panels and other downloadable content, will come together to form part of UKGBC’s and the wider industry’s presence at COP26.

This appointment follows other key business wins for the PR and communications firm, including advising host city Glasgow City Council in the run up to COP26. The project involves the promotion of the council’s ‘Greenprint for Investment’ a portfolio of transformative climate investment projects designed to boost Glasgow’s 2030 net-zero goal. The prospectus spans £30bn of investment and place-based development opportunities, inviting international investment in line with the UN’s COP26 calls to unlock private finance for mitigation and adaptation in the face of climate change.

These recent appointments demonstrate ING Media as a sector leader in ESG communications for the built environment as well as the broader cities agenda, a vital component as the industry looks to transition towards sustainable, green development.

Leanne Tritton, Managing Director of ING Media said:

COP26 promises to be a pivotal moment in the UK and the world’s fight against climate change. We cannot succeed in this fight without cities and the built environment making significant changes to how we travel, how we heat our buildings, and how we build new homes. How we communicate this is vital. We are looking forward to working with Glasgow City Council and UKGBC and our wider client base to highlight the importance of ESG within the built environment.
