99% Invisible
What: The world-famous radio show created by American radio producer Roman Mars (Planet Money, RadioLab) had to make the cut. 99% invisible is about the unnoticed architecture and design that shapes our world, from Freud's couch to inmates redesigning prisons in San Francisco. The content is less academic but more original and fun.

What: These academic podcasts are produced by Harvard Graduate School of Design. The content focuses mainly on comprehensive interviews with leading designers, architects and planners. Skylines
What: Every two weeks, British journalist John Elledge from City Metric and his guests discuss the politics and workings of cities, including topics from the Great Northern Rail to Uber to the perception of Paris by the French. About 136 episodes with strong and engaging content.

The Urbanist and Tall Stories
What: Created by Monocle, The Urbanist podcast is a guide to better cities: it is smart, serious and very international. The podcasts do not only focus on design and planning, but the whole economic system behind them. Tall Stories are short length podcasts around five minutes that explore a focused subject: either a particular building, statue or even park bench.

Third Wave Urbanism
What: This conversational podcast is off the air at the moment. It was created by two American urbanists Kristen Jeffers and Katrina Johnston-Zimmerman, both with significant experience of designing urban spaces. It mainly deals with the new normal of human-scale urban thinking in our globalised cities, but from a female perspective. Old, but still good.

What: A brilliant podcast for all the property investors that want to get straight-talking property investment advice! With different topics each week and news round-up for new or experienced investors, it’s very UK-focused but worth listening to.
