Founded in Shoreditch over 20 years ago by Andrew Waugh and Anthony Thistleton, Waugh Thistleton Architects now employs over 30 staff. Fascinated by new approaches to sustainable buildings Waugh Thistleton designed their first cross-laminated timber (CLT) building in 2003, and have subsequently built an international reputation as the pioneer of CLT architecture.

Waugh Thistleton’s portfolio ranges from affordable housing and private residential projects to offices and commercial spaces, as well as buildings for mixed, cultural and leisure uses.

Recent projects include Dalston Lane, the world’s largest CLT building; the expansion of the UK’s most significant Jewish cemetery in Bushey, Hertfordshire; and iconic furniture brand Vitsoe’s new HQ and production building in Royal Leamington Spa.
