The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art and design with collections unrivalled in their scope and diversity. The museum was established to make art and design accessible to everyone and to inspire British designers and manufacturers. Spanning over 5,000 years of human creativity from across the globe, and exploring virtually every medium, the V&A’s collections continue to intrigue, inspire and inform.
ING was appointed by the V&A to promote the first-ever collaboration between the V&A and La Biennale di Venezia in 2016. Curated by Brendan Cormier and Danielle Thom of the V&A and designed by Ordinary Architecture, ‘A World of Fragile Parts’ will explore the potential value of copies as a tool for preservation. In a world of ecological uncertainty and violent wars, copies and scans can provide valuable records of cultural sites and artefacts and important data for future conservators.
