Merchant Square is an 11-acre canal-side neighbourhood in London’s West End. It is currently occupied by nearly 4,000 residents, with 5 bars and restaurants, a Virgin Active Gym and 6,000 people working in the offices of international brands. Merchant Square is managed by European Land and Property Limited, which is based on the estate and is delivering the next phase of the development which includes 2 Merchant Square, a new office development.
Health and wellbeing is at the heart of Merchant Square’s philosophy. The dedicated on-site Merchant Square team is passionate about connecting people and encouraging work-life balance – promoting the social, physical and mental wellbeing of its community via events such as comedy, pop-ups, giant sports screens, floating market, zorbing, subsidised yoga, Hula-fit and free paddle boarding on the canal. It is also home to two innovative, kinetic bridges: Thomas Heatherwick’s Rolling Bridge and the Fan Bridge by Knight Architects.
The latest addition to Merchant Square is a 730 sq m floating park. Designed by acclaimed garden designer Tony Woods, the park will provide green public space on the water for residents, workers and visitors alike.
