Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW) is currently in its sixth year, attracting a range of creative industries as well as the general public. One could say it’s the ‘peoples’ design show’ – a truly inclusive event. With installations, product launches, workshops and talks, CDW has become one of the most important events in the design calendar.

So, look no further, ING has the top things to do and see at CDW, so you don’t miss out!


INSTALLATION & EVENT: Agora on the Green by russ + henshaw and Design for Life Party with Article 25 and Scandinavian Business Seating

Tuesday 19 May – Thursday 21 May | Clerkenwell Green

Situated on Clerkenwell Green, the installation designed by russ + henshaw transforms this forgotten space into a modern agora, reminiscent of the public square’s rich and colourful past. The feature will integrate SBS’s colourful RBM Noor chairs, inviting the public to engage and interact with it and reflect upon Article 25’s approach towards giving life to communities.

Celebrate Agora on the Green with a party at the SB Seating’s showroom. Simultaneously, an auction hosted by Steve Edge, Founder of Edge Design, provides a chance to bid on a variety of design pieces by esteemed architects Eva Jiřičná CBE RA and Takasaki Masaharu.

For 2015, a new venue, the beautiful and rarely opened Sessions House, will host a collection of leading and culturally conscious furniture brands, interior companies, art and film pieces. Supported by Icon Magazine, the space will house a cafe in addition to a line-up of thought-provoking talks featuring speakers such as Michael Young, GamFratesi and more. EXHIBITION & EVENT:Vitra hosts Jean Prouvé’s retrospective

19-21 May | 30 Clerkenwell Road, London EC1M 5PG

Vitra celebrates the life and works of architect Jean Prouvé with a retrospective of his life and works. This also connects with Vitra’s Prouvé RAW Office Edition, a second limited edition revival collection, which was originally designed by Jean Prouvé and developed in partnership with G-Star RAW. Guests can also enjoy the ‘Prouvé Bistro’ offering freshly made food boxes and coffee on 20 & 21 MAY from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Sittings must be booked in advance ( and will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.



EXHIBITION & EVENT:Hypnos: The architecture of sleep – an exhibition by Sto Werkstatt, HASSELL & Draisci Studio

This multisensory and interactive installation presents a unique and immersive environment exploring the architectural spaces needed for physical and mental rest as the patterns of sleep are shifting and changing. Free to attend; limited capacity; booking required: email

PRODUCTS: New Product Launches at the Design Factory

Design Factory at The Farmiloe Building will showcase leading furniture, lighting and product design from around the world. We’re looking forward to seeing new products such as AGA and TFL’s specially commissioned AGA City 60 with TfL branding, Avery barstool in English Oak by Pinch, new 2105 collection by Anglepoise and Core pendant by Terence Woodgate.


EVENT:  Bert&May Launch Party

Join Bert & May for the launch of its new property development arm, ‘Bert & May Spaces’ at this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week. To mark the launch, the company will present ‘Barge No1.’, a temporary showcase on St John’s Square to demonstrate a modern spatial solution for alternative design-led living.
