The RIBA to host Article 25’s annual 10×10 Auction

Article 25 has announced that this year’s esteemed 10×10 Auction will be hosted by at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in London for the second time on the evening of the 29th of November 2016.

The RIBA London’s beautiful Florence Hall will display 100 works of art created by some of the UK’s leading architects, designers and artists

The 10X10 Drawing The City London is Article 25’s annual fundraising event, raising vital funds to support the charity’s work. The event takes its name from the grid of 100 squares laid over an area of London, which this year will be focused on the vibrant area of Brixton. Brixton is a historic area of London influenced heavily by its multi-ethnic community. Each participant is allocated a square and will donate an artwork inspired by human interaction found in their environment. Inspirations will be derived from the modern day issues of forced migration, loss of national identity and creating new cultures.

Last year the 10×10 Auction raised £51,000 which was used to continue Article 25’s work of providing shelter in the world’s most vulnerable communities. All funds raised from this year’s auction will go towards continuing to rebuild communities.

Sunand Prasad, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:

“We are looking forward to this year’s 10×10, one of the best known charity auctions in the industry. I am delighted that the RIBA at 66 Portland Place will again be the venue for showcasing some fantastic artwork by acclaimed artists and architects in a great cause. We hope to achieve a record year for fundraising. All the money raised will go to support vulnerable communities around the world in improving their lives through Article 25’s expertise in designing and delivering lasting, resilient buildings and places.”
